Privacy Policy

The short version
We collect what's needed to run this site: your email address (if you create an account), the stocks you watch and set alerts on, your AI research questions (if you use the paid features), and — if you subscribe — billing records handled by Stripe. We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you around the web. You can delete your account and all its data yourself at any time.
What we collect and why
Email address. Used to sign you in (we email you a sign-in link instead of storing a password) and to send you the price alerts you set. If you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe also uses it to send payment receipts.
Your watchlist. The stock symbols you save, so we can show them to you when you return.
Price alerts. The symbols, target prices, and directions you set, so we can email you when a price crosses your level. Each alert is kept until it fires or you remove it.
Billing information (paid plans only). Payments are processed entirely by Stripe — your card number never touches our servers. We store only your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, and its status, so the site knows what you've paid for.
AI research queries (paid plans only). When you use the AI research tools, we keep a record of your request — the symbol or question you entered and the analysis returned — linked to your account. This acts as your usage receipt for the credits spent and helps us investigate problems and misuse.
Credit history (paid plans only). A ledger of credits granted, spent, and refunded on your account, so your balance is always accountable.
Session cookies. A cookie keeps you signed in between visits. It identifies your session only — we don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Where your data lives
Account, watchlist, alert, credit, and AI query data is stored with Supabase in a data centre located in Canada (ca-central-1 region). The website itself is served by Vercel, and sign-in and alert emails are delivered by Resend. Payments are processed by Stripe. When you use the AI research tools, your question and the related market data are sent to Anthropic (our AI provider) to generate the analysis. These providers process data only on our behalf. Stock market data comes from Finnhub and TwelveData — your personal information is never sent to them.
How long we keep it
Everything above is kept while your account exists and removed when you delete your account. If you have an active subscription when you delete your account, it is not cut short: it simply stops renewing, you are never charged again, and your customer record at Stripe is deleted once the current billing period ends (or right away, if you have no active subscription). Stripe may retain transaction records where financial regulations require it.
One exception, so that returning customers don't lose credits they paid for: if you have unused credits when you delete your account, we keep a one-way hash of your email address together with your credit balance for up to 12 months. We cannot read your email address from this hash; it exists only so that if you sign up again with the same email, your credits are restored. After 12 months, or once your credits are restored, this record is deleted.
Your rights
You can access everything we hold about you (your email, watchlist, alerts, and AI query history are visible right in the site), and you can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account page. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Under Canada's PIPEDA and, where applicable, the EU's GDPR, you also have the right to ask what personal information we hold and request corrections. If you have a privacy concern, contact our Privacy Officer below. If we can't resolve it to your satisfaction, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (or, in the EU, your local data protection authority).
Contact
We have a designated Privacy Officer accountable for our handling of personal information under PIPEDA. For any privacy question, access request, or complaint, email our Privacy Officer at privacy@ticker.investments. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes affecting account holders will be announced by email.
